Farms are a popular theme for kids' apps—every developer seems to have made one. Sago Mini is the latest to join the club with their latest offering, Sago Mini Farm.

All About the Farm Life

Sago Mini Farm is an open-ended playset where kids can explore and create stories of their own in a virtual farm filled with friendly characters, barnyard animals, and interactive surprises. There are several areas to discover, including a barn, wheat field, mud pool, vegetable garden, lake, picnic area, and sandbox. Kids simply scroll left or right to navigate their way around the farm.

At each area on the farm, kids can interact and play with everything they see. For example, they can feed the horses some hay, play on the seesaw with Robin, grow vegetables with the help of a friendly raincloud, then grill or juice the freshly harvested crops. They can also stack items on top of each other and move characters around.

Parents Need to Know

Sago Mini Farm is ideal for ages 2-5. The app encourages curiosity and discovery, and there is no right or wrong way to play. Though there is no instruction for playing, kids should be able to use the app with little to no difficulty.

Sago Mini Farm is a paid app without any in-app purchases. It has no third-party ads. You can use the app without an Internet connection, which makes it great for travel.

Things I Like

Sago Mini Farm packs plenty enough surprises to keep kids coming back for more. Some kids will get a kick out of throwing different things into the juicer to see what will come out (try the log). Others will be delighted to grow their own vegetables (and non-veggie surprises, like cameras and pink diamonds) in the garden, or create sky-high stacks of apples. Most will love discovering a unicorn in the stable.

As kids play, parents can ask their kids about the things they see or do in the app. For example, what life in the farm is like or what they think farmers do all day.

Conclusion

Sago Mini Farm is a terrific farm-themed playset that will appeal to kids who love to explore new things and tell stories of their own. There is enough interactivity in the app to keep kids busy. More importantly, there is plenty of interesting things to talk about. Great for preschoolers.
